At the FAR Academy, everything we do is about creating opportunities for young people to learn, grow, and feel part of something meaningful. One of the most important ways we do this is through the FAR Skate Shop, which plays a vital role in supporting our students and our wider community.

The FAR Skate Shop is much more than a retail space. It is a community hub, a creative outlet, and a key part of how we fund and deliver the work of FAR Academy. Every purchase made in the shop or online directly supports our post-16 provision for young people with EHCPs and those who have found mainstream education challenging.

Skateboarding sits at the heart of our educational approach. It helps young people build confidence, resilience, and independence through real-world experiences. The skate shop reflects these same values. It provides access to quality skate gear, while also offering a welcoming space where students, skaters, and supporters can connect, learn, and feel valued.

Many of our learners engage with the skate shop as part of their education. This can include developing practical skills, learning about customer service, understanding production and design, or simply gaining confidence through responsibility and teamwork. These experiences help students see their strengths and apply them beyond the classroom.
