Learning Environment
We have small class sizes of 5 to 8 pupils with high staff: pupil ratios. The FAR creates a calm, quiet and comfortable place to learn. Some students will need learning breaks. We have calm space and a exercise area which includes: Skate ramp, basketball hoop, pool table, boxing bag, arcade machines. We also have access to a fully functional gym, that we attend weekly with our students.
- We make learning as visual as possible, and adopt visual task analysis in our presentation and delivery of material.
- We try to minimise environmental distractions as much as possible.
- We continually review and update our practice.
- We use Sobel and Alston’s ‘The Inclusive Classroom’ as the basis for our staff training.
